Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Proprietor Of Cell Pet Salon In Hillsborough

James Taylor was deeply upset by the horrific experience his five pound dog JUJU went through over the weekend. Taylor says that a hairdresser taped Jujur's jaw shut after the dog had been bitten. As a result, Jujur became bloody and upset.

Taylor explained, "My pet was clearly distressed. What I originally thought was an actual muzzle, turned out to actually be tape. Jujur was clearly injured and his paws were red. His toenails, cut too closely to the paws likely caused him to bite.

Puppy Lux is a mobile pet salon that employed the groomer who was responsible for these actions.

James took Juju straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. He joined a number of others in accusing Puppy Lux for animal abuse. San Mateo initiated an investigation for possible animal abuse.

James described his observations, saying "I saw wounds in the genital, neck, and near the joints." The cuts were so severe that they caused bleeding."

Jack Smithr is a Puppy Lux customer who posted a Yelp Review about his pet being returned injured or ill. One customer recorded a Snapchat video of a dog that appeared to be in pain. The groomer was said to have forced a napkin inside the dog's ears.

In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, Puppy Lux wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. James said, "Jonny told me that tapering the mouth shut was a normal, acceptable method. He claimed it is better than using a muzzle which, according to him, can be harmful for dogs. He mentioned that he used the same method for his own dogs.

Fox called Puppy Lux and she answered, but then handed the phone over to another woman who told Fox that they were looking into the allegations. When asked about animal abuse bills Puppy, she immediately said that it was an independent entity, before abruptly terminating the call.
